Arrives in a wrinkled, hastily-sealed envelope, no return address:
Left town. Will be back.
I love you.

It was stupid and crazy, and that's why she was doing it.
She hadn't told her parents about it, so she felt a little guilty about the uproar it might cause, especially because after that thing in Canada her mom in particular would say things about how dangerous public transportation was or whatever.
She bought the bus ticket using her savings, and she left a note for her parents that didn't really explain anything but told them not to worry. Like that'd work. She did it anyway.
She hesitated in the doorway with her duffle bag, then ran back into the house, scribbled another note, stuffed it in an envelope, put a stamp on it, and walked it down to the mailbox before she had a chance to think twice about it. Of course, as soon as it went in she regretted it, but then, today was a day of doing weird, stupid things, so why not go all the way with it?
She left Tampa on a 4 o'clock bus to some town she'd never heard of. It was stupid and crazy and completely irresponsible, and for the first time in as long as she could remember, Wren felt like she was doing the right thing.
( Jos and Andre )So apparently, at least two of my students believe it is still
di rigeur to bring the teacher apples.
Now that I don't work at the warehouse anymore, I think I might actually have to go to the gym so I don't get the stereotypical computer geek physique.
